C&R Ranch Earns Audubon Bird-Friendly Land Certification
Can you spot our ranch dog, Cocoa?
We're excited to share some wonderful news! C&R Ranch has earned Audubon's Bird-Friendly Land Certification, joining a select group of California ranches recognized for their commitment to wildlife conservation, sustainable agriculture, and responsible land stewardship.
This certification is more than an honorary designation. Audubon's science-based program requires ranches to meet rigorous standards for habitat management, environmental sustainability, and animal welfare, verified through independent audits.
At C&R Ranch, Charlotte and Roy Ekland use carefully planned rotational grazing to improve soil health, encourage biodiversity, and create healthy habitats for birds and other wildlife. Their pastures provide important habitat for species including Western Kingbirds and Lark Sparrows.
For Charlotte and Roy, caring for the land has always been central to raising healthy, grass-fed, grass-finished Bonsmara cattle. This certification recognizes their ongoing commitment to making the land healthier and more resilient for generations to come.
We're proud to be part of a growing movement demonstrating that raising cattle and protecting wildlife can go hand in hand.
