Carne Asada Tacos
These tacos are a summer favorite, but they are truly delicious any time of year!
What you’ll need:
1-2 pounds of steak
Marinade for steak:
Marinade for 1 to 3 hours depending on how thick the steak is.
Ingredients:
Juice of 3 large limes
2 tablespoons of oil
3/4 teaspoons chile powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
3/4 teaspoons salt
Dash of Tabasco sauce
Put all the ingredients into a jar and shake till well blended.
Marinade the meat.
Heat the barbecue. You can use a charcoal or gas grill.
When the fire is hot, put the steak on to grill. Cook quickly until rare to medium rare, turning the meat once.
( If you like your meat well done, leave it off the fire for 5-6 minutes before cutting. )
Slice the meat like a London Broil, that is, on a diagonal against the grain into thin slices.
Make your tacos with all your favorite condiments—guacamole, salsa, sour cream, grated cheese, lettuce, etc. We like to grill tomatoes, red onion, and peppers (hot or sweet) and add them to the tacos.
